OCR Bonding - Optically Clear Resin Bonding

OCR bonding uses optically clear resin (OCR), a two-part epoxy resin also used in the electronics industry to bond transparent materials. OCR is a harder and more durable adhesive than OCA and can be used to bond materials requiring greater mechanical stability.

Optically clear resin are used for their strong bulk properties and enhanced impact resistance. A major advantage of OCR bonding is the high optical clarity, as the liquid adhesive prevents the formation of air bubbles within the laminate. OCR bonding is a popular solution because it is a reworkable process. If required, liquid adhesives can be removed and components recycled and reused, increasing overall manufacturing yield.
